Terms of service

These terms set the rules for using Link Elf and explain the responsibilities shared by Link Elf and its users.

Effective and last updated: 23 September 2026

Please read these terms before using Link Elf. By creating an account or continuing to use the service, you agree to them and to the Privacy policy.

1. The service

Link Elf is a bookmark-management service that lets you save, organize, import, export, and optionally publish collections of links. Features may change as the service develops. Some features may be labelled beta, preview, or experimental.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old, or older if your local law requires it, to create an account without a parent or guardian. You must provide accurate information, protect your credentials and authentication devices, and notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

You are responsible for activity performed through your account. Guest workspaces are temporary and may become unavailable if you sign out, clear browser data, or lose the session before protecting the workspace with an account.

3. Your content

You retain ownership of content you add to Link Elf. You give Link Elf a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, process, reproduce, and display that content only as needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. This licence ends when the content is deleted, subject to reasonable backup and legal-retention periods.

You are responsible for ensuring that your content and use of linked websites comply with law and do not infringe anyone’s rights.

4. Public boards

Boards are private unless you publish them. Publishing creates a read-only link that can be opened and shared by others. Do not publish confidential, unlawful, or rights-infringing information. Making a board private stops future access through Link Elf, but it cannot recall copies already saved or shared elsewhere.

5. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • Use Link Elf for unlawful, fraudulent, abusive, deceptive, or harmful activity.
  • Upload or publish malware, stolen credentials, illegal content, or material that violates privacy, intellectual-property, or other rights.
  • Probe, bypass, disable, or interfere with authentication, access controls, rate limits, security features, or service infrastructure.
  • Use automated traffic in a way that degrades the service, creates unreasonable load, or circumvents documented limits.
  • Impersonate another person, misrepresent affiliation, or use the service to facilitate spam or phishing.

6. Third-party services and links

Link Elf can connect to third-party services and websites, including authentication and email providers. We do not control third-party content, availability, security, or terms. A saved link is not an endorsement, and you access external websites at your own risk.

7. Availability, changes, and backups

We aim to provide a reliable service but do not promise uninterrupted or error-free availability. Maintenance, security incidents, provider outages, or events beyond reasonable control may affect access. Keep an independent export of important bookmarks; Link Elf is not a substitute for your own backup strategy.

8. Suspension and termination

You may stop using Link Elf or permanently delete your account at any time. We may restrict or suspend access when reasonably necessary to protect the service or its users, investigate abuse, comply with law, or address a material breach of these terms. Where appropriate, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue.

9. Intellectual property

Link Elf’s software, branding, design, and service content—excluding user content and third-party marks—are owned by or licensed to Link Elf and protected by applicable law. These terms do not grant rights to use Link Elf’s branding or copy, resell, reverse engineer, or exploit the service except where law expressly permits it.

10. Disclaimers and liability

Link Elf is provided on an “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties that are not expressly stated here. We are not responsible for third-party websites, user-published content, or losses caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Subject to those protections, Link Elf will not be liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

11. Governing terms and disputes

These terms are governed by the law applicable where Link Elf’s operator is established, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections available in their country of residence. Please contact support@linkelf.app first so we can try to resolve a concern informally.

12. Changes and contact

We may update these terms to reflect service, security, or legal changes. Material changes will be communicated reasonably in advance where practicable. Continued use after an updated version takes effect means you accept it.

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@linkelf.app.
